The Powell River Regional District (PRRD) is updating the Lasqueti Island Solid Waste Management Plan, a document that guides the way the Lasqueti community manages the garbage and recycling generated at their homes and businesses. The PRRD appointed the Lasqueti Island Solid Waste Management Advisory Committee, or LISWMAC, to provide recommendations for how land owners and residents on Lasqueti want to manage their waste in the future. LISWMAC is seeking public input on options for the future of their waste management facilities.
If you are a land owner or resident of Lasqueti Island, please take a moment to fill out an ONLINE SURVEY. The survey closes on August 31st.
A public meeting will be held on Thursday, August 17th at noon at the Lasqueti Island Community Hall to discuss the update to the Solid Waste Management Plan and the five facility options.
