TEXADA RECREATION
The Texada Island Recreation Service was established in 1977 to provided recreation opportunities to Texada Island residents. Facilities include:
- Texada Community Hall – meeting hall and kitchen facilities that can be rented for events
- Gillies Bay Community Centre – rented to a library group, a preschool and a senior’s group
- Farmer’s Market
- Gillies Bay Baseball Field
- Gillies Bay Tennis Court
- Van Anda Baseball Field
- Van Anda Park
- Marble Bluffs Park
- Erickson Beach Park

The Texada Island Recreation Commission provides advice to the regional district about budgeting and operational matters related to these facilities.
TEXADA HERITAGE
Texada Island Community Heritage Service was established in 2010 to undertake heritage planning and conservation for historically significant sites on Texada Island. Texada Island has a rich historical heritage dating back to the 1800’s. The service finances the operation of museums located in the Van Anda School and in Blubber Bay.
The Texada Island Community Heritage Commission is to provide advice to the regional district about budgeting and operational matters related to this service.
