The District has a Regional Board of seven members. Five are elected from the rural areas for terms of three years each. Municipal Council appoints two of its members each year.

Patrick Brabazon
Patrick taught flying in Powell River in the early 70's and moved here in 1997. After being a commercial pilot for 20 years, mostly fighting forest fires, he took a position with the federal government, finishing his service in the field of marine pollution control. Patrick and wife Jane live just north of Sliammon with an assortment of dogs and chickens.

Stan Gisborne
First elected in 1987, Stan was the Board Chair from 1997-2000. An instrument mechanic at the mill for many years, he retired in 2002. He has lived and raised cattle in Paradise Valley with wife Jan for 21 years. Home phone: 604-485-2935

Colin Palmer
Currently the Chair, Colin was first elected to the Regional Board in 1999, though he has also served as Mayor of Powell River and as a
City Councillor. He and his wife Ann have lived in the area for 42 years. Colin owns and operates a local printing business.

Dave has lived on Texada Island for 30 years where he operates a market garden and manufactures organic fertilizer. His background includes geology and mineral exploration, forestry and surveying. He was first elected to the Board in 1999. Home phone:

Merrick Anderson
Merrick Anderson has lived on Lasqueti Island since 1970. He was the Island's Fire Chief for many years while he and wife Noel Taylor raised their two children on the island. In addition to running an orchard and market garden, Merrick is very active in the local music scene.
